Hatton Garden BID are hosting a FREE Mental Health First Aid Course for our businesses on Wednesday 1st & Thursday 2nd of February 2023 9am-5pm. With only 12 spaces available we are limiting the course to one delegate per business, so please only pass on to the relevant employees as space allocation will be done on a first come first serve basis. Course content will include the following: - An in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing - Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues - Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress - Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental...
With my second quarter since joining the Hatton Garden BID team ending, I feel that the Executive Team have built upon the foundations in which were laid in our first quarter working together. I have been able to build strong relationships with the local police team, and with our own local security team, to ensure that the streets of Hatton Garden are kept safe. We continued to run Dr Bike Workshops, in partnership with Central District Alliance, which has continued to be a huge success. We also collaborated with the police to tackle a squatting issue in Petersham House, to which the police were successfully able to remove the squatters. We hosted a Christmas wreath making session with our friends at Jar & Fern on Tuesday 13 December 2022 at the Johnson Building. They ran everyone through the interesting history of wreath making and introduced them to the finest seasonal foliage, freshly sourced from New Covent Garden flower market. The participants had a variety of traditional foliage to choose from, including Christmas tree, Pine cones, Glittery Birch twigs, as well as some more leftfield options like Red Ruscus, Sprayed Flax Seed and Asparagus Fern. On Wednesday 23 November 2022, Hatton Garden BID hosted our first ever Mini-Christmas Market on Leather Lane. We had two huts serving mulled wine, hot chocolate, smores, mince pies, cookies, and a cart serving roasted chestnuts. We also hosted the St Albans CoE school choir at the Present and Christmas tree, and then we also had an additional choir performing at various intervals. And we were also joined by a special guest - The Grinch! Who kindly joined us from Whoville! Happy Halloween from Hatton Garden BID!! Last week, in partnernship with the Johnson Building, we held a pumpkin carving event with our friends at Jar & Fern! Jar and Fern provided a cute pumpkin and all the equipment and guidance needed to make a festive carved pumpkin for participants desks or home. They also provided a bag for them to take the pumpkin flesh home with and a guide for making a pumpkin soup out of it!
The sparkling diamond of your festive calendar: join the community for food, drink and song at the Hatton Garden Christmas Market on Wednesday 23rd November 2022. Look out for our stunning 30ft Christmas tree at the junction of Leather Lane and High Holborn. Enjoy a free cup of mulled wine and a mince pie and your favourite carols from our festive choir while you browse unique gifts and local wares. The choir will be performing from 4-7pm approx.
