Paul took time to explain diamond cut, colour, clarity and carat weight helping me make a well informed choice of diamond for my Fiancée's engagement ring. There was a great selection of rings to choose from and each one was viewed with a detailed description from Paul and a diamond placed in the setting. The whole experience allowed me to create the perfect engagement ring for my Fiancée, which she absolutely loves. I also bought our wedding bands from Paul too. The quality of images and presentation of the website was very helpful and gave great advice.

The experience with Harper Tait could not have been more positive. Upon contacting Harper Tait after browsing their website, I spoke with Paul on a video call to explain what I was looking for, price range etc. After our chat, I met Paul and he went to great lengths, spending over an hour explaining in great detail the process of selecting the right diamond, through the 4 C's, lab versus natural and so on. He then presented many variations of diamonds to me along with different ring designs. The entire process felt so personal which was so important for someone that really wasn't quite sure about what I was looking for at the start. We narrowed it down to 3 items, and I went away to think about it over the course of a few days. At no point did I feel pressured to decide, and as Paul said, it s a big decision and to take all the time to think and consider my options.
If you are in the process of looking for a ring and don't know where to start, I would at least advise you start with Paul. Great experience. As a side note, when I was moving toward a .96 versus .9 carot diamond, Paul made the point that there is almost indistinguishable difference between both and not worth the price increase. Another example of the quality service provided. Ill be back for wedding bands at a later date for sure. Thanks for everything Paul and George.

Fantastic service with Paul at Harper Tait he made choosing my own engagement (and our wedding rings) a lot of fun. We learnt a lot about stones along the way and I was able to try different carats, designs and shapes on my finger to know which was right - as it wasn't what I thought! My fiancé and I had the absolute best experience at Harper Tait (for comparison, we had visited 7 other jewellery stores). We were looking for matching wedding rings and George gave us the best advice, support and expert opinion throughout the process. He explained everything we needed to know about the different metals, shapes, diamond options, etc and ensured we were comfortable with our chosen rings. He also assured us that we would get free resizing and polishing for life, and also engraved both our rings free of charge. Every time we visited the store, we were offered champagne, and the whole experience was really enjoyable every step of the way. As my engagement ring was from a different store and it was the wrong size, George quickly realised the importance of resizing my engagement ring to match my wedding one and even did it free of charge, which really impressed me. It's evident that both George and Paul care about the happiness and satisfaction of their clients and do everything in their power to offer the best possible experience. We had the luck of working with George for all three of our rings. From the very first consultation we felt completely at ease and knew that we were in good hands. The attention to detail and knowledge base that George provided was next to none. We had made sure to get a feel for other vendors on Hatton Garden but they all felt as thought they wanted a quick sell or did not understand what we wanted. With Harper Tait we felt none of that. We were a bit picky with what we wanted and our designs were not so typical and so we felt nervous not see if our rings could be delivered. We can confidently say George 100% delivered. Paul took me through a thorough breakdown of designing an engagement ring. During the initial meeting he made me feel relaxed and at ease. Each stage was broken down making it an informative process.

After agreeing to the design I was sent CAD images to approve before it was made. These images were great and true to how the ring has turned out.

On delivery of the ring Paul gave me options which I was able to pick as he was aware of time limitations.

The ring needed to be resized and the service Paul provided was quick and easy.

They helped me choose my engagement ring and diamond. When I ordered the ring, the diamond I ordered was not in stock. So, they gave me a more expensive diamond but honoured the original price. They also put in a special order for me to get it made quicker! Delivery was fast and the ring was very nicely packaged. I am not really into Jewellery and so when I made the decision to propose I was lost on where to start - I think most men are in the same position.

I felt unsure about the whole process of buying a ring and what to look out for, but when I stumbled upon Harper Tait, and read the great reviews, I decided to go for it. I thought “what the hell, if I go and I don’t like the feel, I can just leave” and so I sent in an inquiry and set up an appointment.

From the moment I walked in I had Paul’s undivided attention. He patiently listened to my thoughts and what I envisioned for this special piece. He gave me a crash course on diamonds and what all the terms you see flying around online mean and what would be my best choice based on my budget. I had my heart set on buying some diamond studs and wanted to go to Hatton Garden to buy them so that I had more choice, when I looked at the jewellers online I didn’t know where to start. I spent a lot of time researching websites and Harper Tait really stood out to me as the reviews are amazing, so I made an appointment to see Paul.

My husband first visited Paul at Harper Tait Fine Jewellery back in 2011 when he chose my engagement ring. A one square 1.09 carat diamond (F clarity) mounted in a four claw platinum band.

Paul was recommended to us by a friend and I know my husband was over the moon with the time Paul took to explain all the different diamond shapes, cuts and qualities.

Paul was then a natural choice for our wedding rings and the same quality of time and effort was give to us as we chose these together. A platinum diamond set wedding band and palladium gents wedding band.

Finally for our ten year anniversary saw us return again to Harper Tait for a diamond and emerald stone set eternity ring. I absolutely love it. This was made even more special as Paul provided a super-speedy turnaround for my husband to surprise me on holiday.

Our experience was excellent throughout the consultation and production process, and the final product was perfect. We designed the ring step by step and went through every single detail to achieve what was an amazing ring which my partner absolutely loves.

Exceptional doesn’t do justice to Harper Tait

I came to them as a combination of recommendations and research and was extremely impressed. Picking the right ring can be nerve-wracking and Paul was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, transparent, and consultative throughout the entire process – at no point did I feel being pressured or upsold. Paul is incredibly personable, and you can clearly see the passion and excitement for his craft come through the conversation.

Not only did he help me pick something that the missus loved to the absolute core and in her words – this is totally me – but also managed to turn it around at an exceptionally expedited timescale and during one of the busiest time of the year!
