Short version: Don’t bother looking anywhere else, just book an appointment with Jason and Jo, you will get an amazing level of customer service, exquisite diamonds, great value, and a truly bespoke service.

Long version: We came across Max Diamonds on this site when we were newly engaged. It was a big purchase, emotionally and monetary. Not helped by the fact you hear all kinds of things about people being ripped off with engagement rings all the time. Our guard was up. We read these reviews and thought, no one is as good as these reviews say they are. But they are true.

We went to Jason after a few appointments with other Hatton garden shops. We had been shown so many diamonds and were completely overwhelmed. Nothing was right, we were questioning the quality we’d seen and were all over the place with design.

My first words to Jason were ‘I’m so overwhelmed’. He paused and said ‘ok let’s step back and work through it.’ Over the course of the next 3 months that exactly what we did.

We started with the middle stone. He sourced diamonds for me to look at at our next visit. He took abstract descriptions like…’that’s too sparkly, but that one isn’t sparkly enough.’ To find us a beautiful old cut cushion diamond recognising that a more modern cushion wouldn’t fit the brief - this is how much he listens to you! When we saw the stone it was quite clear that it was in another league in terms of quality to anything we’d seen. And at an excellent price.

We then set about the accent stones for my trilogy. I was a tricky customer. I had an idea but I also wanted to rule things out. I lost count at 10 different diamonds Jason sourced, sometimes in a matter of days, for me to consider. As it turns out I wanted quite a rare cut. Jason was amazing. It wasn’t a problem that the size and shape of bullet diamonds we wanted weren’t on the global (!) market. He sourced larger ones and got them cut. We were nervous about this, but Jason reassured us that if they weren’t perfect we’d try something else. Obviously they were perfect!

Every step of the way Jason was just a email away, super responsive. Jason was always up for exchanging ideas on what would look good. It really felt like he was as invested as we were. Jo, his wife, whilst we never met, is also there throughout the process, making suggestions, and doing the CAD designing of the ring. This bit was very cool, alongside that and the resin moulds you know what your ring is going to be like before it’s made and you can adjust and tweak until it’s perfect. Even so seeing the finished article really is something.

Jason always made time to see me after work and they both pulled it out of the bag working over the weekend to make sure we could collect it before travelling to family at Christmas. Including Jason coming into the workshop in London after he’d finished up for the year.

We genuinely don’t have a single bad thing to say about our time working with them. We’re a little sad it’s over actually!
