Incredible service for engagement ring shopping

I went to Hatton Gardens knowing very little about what sort of ring I wanted, what size I needed to buy, or how to decide on the merits of various diamonds, and luckily wandered into Hearts of London.

I was served by Eddi, who is part gemologist (a fully qualified gemologist as it happens) , part designer and part wizard (based on his ability to correctly identify the size of ring I needed to buy from looking at a photo of my now Fiancée which vaguely showed her hand...) and he was amazing.

In a surprisingly short timeframe we talked through the various merits of different aspects of the design of the ring which I wanted, and he designed the perfect ring for me based on this. He had a large selection of display models to pick and choose different bits from, and advised on what it sounded like my fiancée would like based on some very vague and generalised comments from me. Together we designed a ring which would be made on site. If anyone wishes to have a custom made ring but thinks that it will be too difficult, go and challenge Eddi, he will make it easy.

Next was choosing a stone. I was asked a budget and shown varying stones around my price range, including some small stones which were perfect, and some larger stones which had some imperfections. Eddi quickly pointed out that if I could not see the imperfections with a naked eye, then very few people would, so I should use these imperfections to increase the size which I went for. He never tried to increase my budget or sell me a diamond (all of their diamonds are fully certified by the way) which was more expensive than it should be due to almost undetectable differences. I looked at several diamonds through varying microscopes and was left to decide on where I wanted to spend my money. I decided on a slightly off colour (not that you can tell) stone so that I could increase my favourite quality - size.

Suddenly I had found a diamond which I liked, and designed a ring to hold it. This was something which I certainly was not expecting to do on day 1 of looking. Eddi offered me a generous discount and that was that. The perfect, custom made ring, chosen within a few hours and based on no real prior knowledge.

I went to collect the ring a few weeks later, and it was as expected. Perfect, in my opinion at least, and confirmed a few days later when I took a knee in Budapest. It was even the perfect size. Magic.

The customer service, advice and professionalism of all of the staff whom I encountered at Hearts of London impressed me throughout. I never intend on buying another ring like this again, but I wholeheartedly encourage anyone else who is looking for the perfect engagement ring to pop in and see what Hearts of London can offer. You will not be disappointed.
