With such significant regeneration projects taking place in and around Hatton Garden such as Cross Rail and the Super Cycle Highway, it has been key that we are taking a strategic lead in influencing wider public realm strategies and plans. It has also been important to see what role and contribution the BID can make with a business understanding of the importance of a clean and well-structured public realm can have on welcoming visitors.
Our 2017/18 achievements are:
- The Hatton Garden public realm document has now been finalised and key findings from this will be used to inform future plans, development and policy.
- The Holborn island improvements report was commissioned by the BID. We are a key stakeholder in working with the owners and Camden Council to ensure these plans are recognised as important and progressed.
- New Grenville street signage has been designed and approved by the board. This iconic signage is designed to reflect the full history and appeal of Hatton Garden and will ensure that attentions are grabbed to those leaving? Farringdon station, encouraging all to be directed in to Hatton Garden.
- It has been important to try and keep visitors in Hatton garden for longer. This is why we have installed additional seating along Leather lane, encouraging people to sit, eat and enjoy the hustle of our fabulous food market.
