On Thursday 11th April 2024, Aaron Finn, (Hatton’s Garden’s BID Manager) completed his goal of walking the Piccadilly line from Cockfosters to Heathrow Terminal 5! This walk totalled: - 62.10km - 77,631 steps - 40 tube stations - 10 hours, 14 minutes, 41 seconds - £1,876 raised Aaron’s fundraising efforts were in aid of raising awareness of the signs and symptoms of testicular cancer and the importance of regularly checking yourself, in partnership with Orchid. 'Stand Up Against Street Harassment' is an hour-long online session, sponsored by L'Oréal Paris. The Hatton Garden Business Improvement District held its Annual General Meeting, covering the 2022-2023 financial year, on 22nd November 2023. The annual accounts and board of directors were approved unanimously by the BID Members. We were delighted to be joined by Lucy Browne-O'Sullivan from Morgan Capital, who outlined the vision of a major redevelopment due to start in Q1 of 2024 on Kirby Street. To celebrate World Mental Health Day, we hosted a Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) networking event. On every Tuesday and Thursday throughout June and July, the BID hosted the Leather Lane Summer Series. For this event, the BID is placing some tables and chairs in the empty space on Leather Lane located outside 2 Waterhouse Square. Each table was designed with BID branding, as well as QR codes that directed people to the BID’s social channels. Live music will also be onsite every Thursday to provide light entertainment for those using the space. With my second quarter since joining the Hatton Garden BID team ending, I feel that the Executive Team have built upon the foundations in which were laid in our first quarter working together. I have been able to build strong relationships with the local police team, and with our own local security team, to ensure that the streets of Hatton Garden are kept safe. We continued to run Dr Bike Workshops, in partnership with Central District Alliance, which has continued to be a huge success. They ran everyone through the interesting history of wreath making and introduced them to the finest seasonal foliage, freshly sourced from New Covent Garden flower market. Within my first quarter working with you all in Hatton Garden, I feel great strides have been made in line with our core values that you, as local members, voted in favour for in the recent 2021 re-ballot. From talking to local businesses when I first started, a key issue that was raised was the desire for greater security presence to deter anti-social behaviour.
