Women's Night Safety Walk

Earlier this month, the BID team took part in a Women’s Night Safety Walkaround alongside the Deputy Leader of Camden Council, local Met Police ward officers and several council teams. The aim of the walk was to better understand how women experience the area after dark and to identify practical improvements that can help make our streets feel safer and more welcoming.

As part of the evening, we organised a series of stop-offs at local businesses, including Queensmith, Remark! and Freshworks. These visits provided staff and business owners with an invaluable opportunity to speak directly with our security and community safety partners. Many shared their perspectives on how safe they feel in the district, the challenges they encounter and the measures they believe would make a meaningful difference to night-time safety.

The feedback gathered during the walk has now been collated and is informing a new action plan focused on tangible improvements. The BID will continue working closely with Camden Council, the police, and local stakeholders to take these actions forward and ensure that women’s safety remains a priority within the district.

We’d like to thank all businesses and partners who took the time to participate and contribute to this important work. If you’d like to stay updated or get involved in future safety initiatives, please get in touch with BID Director Alex.
