Keeping Hatton Garden Clean

Hatton Garden BID prides itself on making the area a place where people want to stay in. That is why we are in continuous dialogue with local businesses and the local authority to find out how we can make improvements to the area. The BID worked with Camden to have more bins provided in key areas around the district. This was in order to ensure our streets are kept uncluttered by rubbish and bags.

However, during his daily district walkabout our project manager, Aaron, noticed that people walking up to Greville Street from Farringdon Station were regularly met with bins overflowing with rubbish. In order to combat the pile up of debris and bags our street cleaner, Luis Carlos, was immediately re-tasked to be there early morning to tidy up.

The above is an example of where the BID can redeploy our resources in an agile manner, but there are instances, where we can work closer together to ensure Hatton Garden remains a desirable place for people to spend time.

If you see rubbish bags left out on the pavement, bins overflowing, and even graffiti, Camden has the Love Clean Streets app. The app is used by the Clean Team and Executive Team when out and about in Hatton Garden, and we can always be contacted to report these matters on behalf of businesses.

The Love Clean Streets app can be used to report street cleaning issues, such as illegally dumped rubbish, dog mess, graffiti and litter, using your smartphone.
If you have an issue with your refuse and/or recycling collection you can:
·    Telephone Veolia at: 020 3567 8105
·    Email [email protected] where they will pick up your enquiry.
·    Visit the Camden website: www.camden.gov.uk/rubbishandrecycling to log requests and find out about your services.

This is a collaborative effort, and we are always more than happy to discuss issues such as these with businesses in person.

For more information regarding this, please email our Project Manager Aaron.
