A Stronger Area

Skills, Training and CSR

The Hatton Garden BID actively supports skills development and industry expertise within the local jewellery and creative sectors, alongside helping businesses access CSR opportunities. Through bespoke training programmes, workshops, and mentoring, the BID ensures that businesses and individuals have access to world-class learning opportunities that strengthen the local workforce and sustain the area’s unique economy.

Key initiatives include:

Camden Food Bank:

Hatton Garden BID is pleased to announce a new partnership with Camden Foodbank, supporting their work to provide emergency food and practical support to people facing hardship in the local community.

Camden Foodbank works to ensure that individuals and families receive help during difficult periods, while also working with partners and community organisations to ensure people can access the right support long before they reach crisis point. Demand for food banks across the UK has risen significantly in recent years. Since 2020, usage has increased by 38%, with 2.9 million food parcels distributed last year alone, including over one million parcels provided to children.

As part of this new partnership, Hatton Garden BID will coordinate monthly food collections from local businesses, particularly offices within the area. Participating businesses will receive a small collection crate, allowing staff to donate a single item during the month.

Each month the BID will circulate a list of priority items needed by the food bank. Typical items include:
  • Cereal
  • Tea bags and coffee
  • Long-life milk
  • Tinned fish, meat and vegetables
  • Tinned fruit
  • Cold tinned meats and hot dogs
  • Gluten-free, halal, vegan and vegetarian food items
  • Shampoo and shower gel
  • Toilet roll
  • Washing powder and washing-up liquid

Once collections are complete, the BID team will collect the donated items and deliver them to Camden Foodbank. The total weight of donations from each participating business will then be shared with them so they can see the impact of their contribution.
