Safety & Security
Maintaining a safe, secure, and well-managed environment is essential for businesses, residents, and visitors in Hatton Garden. The BID delivers a coordinated approach to safety, bringing together businesses, security services, and statutory partners to prevent crime, reduce anti-social behaviour (ASB), and respond to emerging threats.
Key actions we deliver include:
Dedicated street security patrols: Visible patrols actively monitor the area, responding to issues in real-time. Businesses can report concerns directly via a local WhatsApp group for rapid action. Request to join

CCTV and ANPR camera monitoring: Supporting the deployment of cameras throughout the district in partnership with the Met Police and Camden Council.
Collaboration with police and statutory partners: Regular liaison with local police, Counter Terrorism teams, and Safer Neighbourhood teams ensures resources are targeted effectively and incidents are prevented where possible.
Security Forum Meetings: Bringing together businesses, security officers, and key agencies to share intelligence, discuss initiatives, and adopt best practice.
Partnership patrols: Coordinated patrols with the Met Police, BTP and Camden Council seek to deter anti-social behaviour.
Crime prevention support: Providing advice and tools to businesses on counter-terrorism, fraud, economic crime, business continuity, and designing out crime during development.
Tackling street harassment and solicitation: Targeted work addressing “chuggers” outside Farringdon Station and other persistent issues, including stronger awareness campaigns and witness statement collection.
Anti-social behaviour (ASB) prevention: Reporting ASB incidents to police, collaborating with Camden Community Safety teams, and developing long-term strategies to reduce ASB in the area.
Community engagement: Fostering positive relations with local residents, businesses, and visitors to maintain a welcoming and secure environment.
Through these measures, the BID ensures Hatton Garden is safe, resilient, and well-prepared, creating confidence for businesses and visitors while maintaining the area’s appeal and vibrancy, and looking to support and empower local police in their ongoing work.
